Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson ‘Grateful That Nobody Got Hurt’ in Chelsea Bombing
Oops. He Did It Again.
Gary Johnson had yet another SMDH moment. On Sunday Johnson responded to news that an explosive device went off in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan by telling CNN that he was “just grateful that nobody got hurt.” (Video above, at about the 6:20 mark, towards the end.)
In fact, 29 people were hurt and hospitalized by the bomb.
This remark follows a stunning response two weeks ago, when Johnson, a Libertarian and former Republican governor of New Mexico, was asked on MSNBC about the refugee tragedy and humanitarian crisis in Aleppo, a Syrian city, which had been in the news.Â
“What is Aleppo?,” Johnson now infamously responded.
His remarks prompted posts on social media, like this:

Johnson’s running mate, former Massachusetts Republican Governor William Weld, has signaled he may quit the campaign. Johnson has not met the threshold for next week’s presidential debate, but is ignoring his statement earlier this year he would quit the race if he was not on stage.
