Breaking: Colorado Planned Parenthood Shooter Incompetent to Continue Trial, Judge Says
Man Who Killed Three People and Had Told Police ‘No More Baby Parts’ Cannot Continue Trial Now
Robert Lewis Dear is incompetent to continue being tried for the murders of three people at a Colorado Planned Parenthood last November. Dear, who infamously told police, “no more baby parts“ – a comment believed to be related to the fraudulent Planned Parenthood videos – has acknowledged the murders. Some have labeled Dear a domestic terrorist.
Judge Gilbert Martinez Wednesday afternoon put the trial on hold until Dear’s “mental competency can be restored through treatment. The case will resume when he’s found to be capable of understanding the court proceedings and assist in his defense,” the Star-Tribune reports. The judge will review Dear’s progress in 90 days.
