Colorado Planned Parenthood Terror Suspect Robert Dear Says In Court, ‘I’m A Warrior For The Babies’
Robert Dear, the man believed to have shot and killed three people at a Colorado Planned Parenthood, has been charged in court today, and blurted out a a guilty plea.
The day after Thanksgiving many across the nation were glued to their TVs to learn the fate of people inside a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood. When the siege was over, three people were dead, none others were wounded, and Robert Lewis Dear reportedly surrendered to police.
Dear was initially charged with a single count of first degree murder, but today at the El Paso County courthouse the prosecutor filed official charges, 179 counts including murder, according to CBS Denver.
In court minutes ago, Dear, according to Colorado Independent’s Corey Hutchins blurted out, “I’m guilty– there’s no trial — I’m a warrior for the babies.”

CBS Denver adds their reporter, Rick Sallinger, also overheard a nearly identical statement. Sallinger also posted this tweet:

Prosecutors could ask for the death penalty. They have 63 days from today to do so.
Local paper The Gazette notes these charges do not include any possible federal charges. The Dept. of Justice has an ongoing investigation.
Immediately after the shooting, as many tried to grasp why anyone would shoot people in a Planned Parenthood, Dear’s motives seemed to take form. He reportedly told police after his surrender, “no more baby parts,” believed to be a reference to the fraudulent videos conservatives have been using to falsely claim the health provider sells aborted baby parts.Â
One law enforcement official said Dear’s attack was “definitely politically motivated.’’
A neighbor said Dear had anti-Obama pamphlets, thought the resident was ruining the country and wanted him impeached.
