Ratings Tanking, Duck Dynasty Son Announces ‘I Believe What The Bible Says’ About Gays
The latest season of “Duck Dynasty” aired last night, so yesterday was the perfect time for Willie Robertson to use the Bible to bash gays. The son of the now infamous Phil Robertson — who told GQ that “a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” and made other anti-gay and racist remarks — made sure to defend his dad in a CNN interview.
“Phil just said what he thought, you know, what was on his heart,†Willie Robertson told CNN’s Kyra Phillips.
When asked if “the Bible is literal,” Willie Robertson said, “That’s how it was said.”
The Robertson son suggested GQ had an agenda because the reporter “was asking specifically this and that.”
Talking about his father’s comparison of gays to drunkards and thieves, a la Corinthians I, Willie told CNN, ““I believe what the Bible says and that’s what he says to put those in.â€
The Hollywood Reporter noted last week ratings for “Duck Dynasty” are tanking, adding, “it seems safe to say that the series’ glory days are now behind it.”
