OK Legislator Sally Kern Says Born This Way Not OK
Oklahoma State Legislator Sally Kern says “Born This Way” is not OK in her book. Kern, speaking to American Family Association’s Tim Wildmon Wednesday on their American Family Radio program, was promoting her new book, “The Stoning of Sally Kern: The liberal attack on Christian conservatism-and why we must take a stand.”
“To me what is hateful is when those people who say ‘you’re born this way, there’s no hope in change, you’re stuck in this, deal with it,’ that is hate. There’s no hope in that,” said Kern.
“We’re losing our freedom of conscience,” Kern said, as she went into a diatribe, comparing homosexuals to adulterers and immorality.
“And if the homosexuals get what they want, and as you said it’s not just homosexuality, it’s immorality or adultery, all of that, but in my opinion the homosexual movement is the tip of the spear. They’re the ones who right now are beating down the door, have their foot in the door, trying to tear down the moral fiber of America. We have to stand up to that. The reason it’s the tip of the spear you don’t see ‘Adulterers Victory Fund’ out there trying to promote adultery. God’s people got to stand up to this.”

Earlier this year, Kern, 64, made racist and misogynistic comments on the Oklahoma House floor, and received an official rebuke from her peers with a 76 – 16 vote.
“Is this just because they’re black that they’re in prison or could it be because they didn’t want to work hard in school?†Kern asked in April, adding “I taught school for 20 years and I saw a lot of people of color who didn’t want to work as hard — they wanted it given to them.â€
The Oklahoma legislator had also added, “women usually don’t want to work as hard as a man†because “women tend to think a little more about their family.â€
In June of 2009, Kern wrote, “Granting marriage status to homosexuals who comprise little more than 3 percent of the population would be like granting all applicants admission to a prestigious college just because a few meet the qualifications. That school’s status would fall. Likewise, the status of marriage will fall if same-sex marriage is legalized.â€
The following month she signed a “Proclamation for Morality,†which blamed the U.S.’s economic crisis on, among other acts of “debauchery,†same-sex marriage.
In 2008, Kern said, “Studies show that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than, you know, a few decades. So it’s the death knell of this country. I honestly think it’s the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam — which I think is a big threat, okay? Cause what’s happening now is they are going after, in schools, two-year olds…And this stuff is deadly, and it’s spreading, and it will destroy our young people, it will destroy this nation.â€
