Giving Thanks — A Call For Submissions!
Last month, thanks to our talented and generous readers, and to Caleb Eigsti who conceived and managed it, the Out October Project gave hope to many readers and attracted a great deal of attention. You, sharing your coming out stories, made a difference. We published a total of twenty stories, and we still have more to share!
Looking ahead, and realizing that Thanksgiving is just two weeks away (how did that happen?) I thought it would be a good opportunity to share what we’re thankful for. Despite hard economic times and major setbacks in the LGBT civil rights movement, we, as a community and as a nation, still have much to be thankful for.
They say having an “attitude of gratitude” is necessary to be happy in life. I agree.
So, here is a call for submissions! Share with us your list of “top ten things I am grateful for,” or a gratitude-filled Thanksgiving story, or anything that you think will help others realize that together, as a community, we can make a difference in the lives of our gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender brothers and sisters.
Email us at newcivilrightsmovement at gmail dot com, by Friday, November 19!
Include photos and videos if you like!
