NY Same-Sex Marriage: Mayor Bloomberg Marries John And Jonathan (Video)
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg officiated over the wedding of two of his senior staffers, Jonathan Mintz, his Commissioner of Consumer Affairs and John Feinblatt, his Chief Policy Adviser. Bloomberg said he broke his rule of not marrying couples in his role as mayor, except for those of previous New York City mayors.
Bloomberg says marriage predates recorded history. It was a beautiful ceremony at Gracie Mansion, the official home of the Mayor of New York. Joel Grey sung the song, “Cabaret,” live.
The ceremony was carried live on CNN. Don Lemon anchored the broadcast.
