WATCH: Pelosi Says Trump ‘Is Engaged in a Cover Up’
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi told reporters Wednesday morning that President Donald Trump “is engaged in a cover up.”
Her accusation – the strongest to date – came minutes after she held a special meeting for House Democrats with just one topic on the agenda: impeachment.
“We do believe that it is important to follow the facts, we believe that no one is above the law, including the president of the United States, and we believe the president of the United States is engaged in a cover up, in a cover up,” the Speaker told reporters.
Peloso has been opposed to impeaching the President, at least in public, but this week calls from House Democrats exploded, with at least 30 now calling for an impeachment inquiry.
