Trump Tweets Congratulations to ‘Fox & Friends’ for Ratings Hike Immediately After Denouncing ‘Fake News’
‘Never Been a Time Like This!’
Irony is dead.
Thursday morning President Donald Trump tweeted his congratulations to “Fox & Friends” for their supposed ratings hike while retweeting their segment on the “religious freedom” executive order. He’ll be signing this morning. The Fox News morning show, which bends over backwards to spin his daily disasters into gold, defend Trump like a god, and attack his critics, is his all-time favorite. He is largely responsible for their improved ratings.
Congratulations to @foxandfriends on its unbelievable ratings hike.

His tweet immediately proceeding his congratulatory missive?
A denunciation of “fake news.”Â
The Fake News media is officially out of control. They will do or say anything in order to get attention – never been a time like this!

The problem – or one of the problems – with this claim is Trump doesn’t understand the concept of fake news. To Trump, fake news is anything he doesn’t like or agree with. Almost anything that makes him look bad. You know, facts.Â
Fake news is absolutely a problem. But Trump isn’t trying to combat fake news, he’s trying to combat bad press. At some point he’s going to get slapped with a First Amendment lawsuit.
