Hillary Clinton Now Leading Donald Trump by More Than 2 Million Votes
Unprecedented
Hillary Clinton may have lost the presidential race thanks to our Electoral College system, but the former secretary of state is now beating Donald Trump in the popular vote, by a huge margin. Clinton has received more than two million votes than Trump, and there are several million more votes remaining to be counted.
According to the 2016 National Popular Vote Tracker, which is the go-to source for up-to-the-minute data, Clinton currently has 64,223,958 votes, while Trump has 62,206,395. That’s a difference of 2,017,563.Â
Just two days ago Clinton’s lead was 1.7 million.
7,143,347 chose to vote for third party candidates or wrote in names other than Trump or Clinton.
Contrary to early reports, more Americans voted this year than in 2012.Â
133,573,700 votes have been counted, with more yet to come. In 2012, the total number of votes was 129,075,630.
