‘Huge’: Legal Expert Explains Inclusion of Lindsey Graham on List Fulton County Grand Jury Recommended to Be Charged

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is the most prominent name on the list of 21 people District Attorney Fani Willis chose to not indict, who had been recommended for indictment by the Fulton County, Georgia special grand jury in their investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

“Huge,” is how MSNBC legal analyst Katie Phang described Senator Graham’s inclusion on the list of recommended indictments.

Senator Graham is included in the section that she said reads: “with respect to the national efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election focus on efforts in Georgia, Arizona. Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia, the grand jury recommends that the district attorney seek indictments on the following persons, including votes.”

“So they list the names,” Phang explains, “including Lindsey Graham, which of course is huge, a United States senator, but then they also include the votes. So you can see who voted yes, who voted no and who abstained.”

“And there is a ‘nay’ vote or a ‘no’ vote for almost all of them. But it’s it’s interesting that Lindsey Graham actually got 13 yes, seven no and one abstention. But Lindsey Graham’s name is notable.”

Phang adds that it’s “also notable” that former U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler is on the list of recommended indictments.

“If you remember her, she failed to keep her seat in Congress as well, but she also was a huge Trump supporter. There was a recommendation that she be indicted. We see Boris Epstein or Epstein whatever iteration he’s going with today. He is known to be the quarterback for the Donald Trump legal team. His name is recommended for purposes of an indictment.”
