Buttigieg Out

Former South Bend, Indiana mayor Pete Buttigieg is ending his campaign for the Democratic nomination for president. The 38-year old made history as the first openly-gay major presidential candidate. He won the Iowa Caucuses but was unable to build a broad coalition.

The New York Times reports Buttigieg, a Rhodes Scholar who graduated Harvard College and Oxford University, and a U.S. Navy Lieutenant who served two tours in Afghanistan, “decided to quit the Democratic race, a person briefed on Mr. Buttigieg’s plans said on Sunday.”
