Federal Judge Orders Trump to Pay Millions for Misusing His ‘Charity’
A federal judge has ordered President Donald Trump to pay $2 million after misusing what was supposed to be a charity he founded, The Trump Foundation, the AP reports.
CNN adds that the judge ordered the payment to “resolve a civil lawsuit that alleged ‘persistent’ violations of charities law that included unlawful coordination with the 2016 Trump presidential campaign.”
Last year the charity was dismantled.
A New York Attorney general in a civil suit alleged Trump and his adult children had engaged in “persistently illegal conduct.”
