Trump Tells Putin to ‘Get Rid of’ the Press, Says It’s a ‘Pleasure’ to See Him

President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin had a laugh at the expense of the media during the G-20 meeting in Japan. When a reporter asked during a public questioning session how Trump felt about Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election, he quipped, “Get rid of them. Fake news is a great term, isn’t it? You don’t have this problem in Russia, but we do.”
“We also have,” Putin replied. “It’s the same.”
Trump also bonded with Putin over a scorn for journalists.

“We also have,” Putin answered, in English. “It’s the same.”

Apparently Trump’s panties were in a wad because he couldn’t get next to his pal Putin for the photo, but they seem to have bonded regardless.
“It’s a great honor to be with President Putin,” Trump said.

#Russia‘s state TV continues to emphasize that Trump was “jokingly asking Putin to stop interfering in the U.S. elections.” They point out that in response, Putin laughed and “promised nothing.”#G20Summit #G20 #G20OsakaSummit pic.twitter.com/n4OtYN1oDQ
