‘Never Again Is Now’: Liz Cheney Gets Shamed, Slammed and Schooled for Attacking AOC Over Concentration Camp Comment
U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney is once again under fire, this time for her attack on fellow Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Cheney, the third most-powerful member of GOP House leadership, blasted the Queens representative for comments she made in a video, calling attention to President Donald Trump’s concentration camps.
“The U.S. is running concentration camps on our southern border and that is exactly what they are,” Rep. Ocasio-Cortez told supporters, warning that we may be ‘losing to an authoritarian and fascist presidency.”
Cheney blasted AOC, telling her to “spend just a few minutes learning some actual history.”
Please @AOC do us all a favor and spend just a few minutes learning some actual history. 6 million Jews were exterminated in the Holocaust. You demean their memory and disgrace yourself with comments like this. https://t.co/NX5KPPb2Hl

But it’s the Wyoming representative who needs to “learn some actual history,” as many – including many people who said they are Jewish – were quick to say on social media.
If you spend a few minutes learning some actual history, you will find out that concentration camps are different from death camps and have a history that both predates and extends far past the Nazis. https://t.co/Bccy3SaXW0

Hi there. Jew here.
No, she is not, you are. Our Holocaust didn’t start with gas chambers. It started with concentration camps, and “refugees”, and “undesirables” – and people like you who justified it.
AOC is right. The spawn of evil is wrong. https://t.co/3ES2lWTQE9

Also, Liz, we prefer you don’t say “exterminated” about people. That’s for rats and cockroaches (both Nazi metaphors for the Jews they murdered, incidentally!).

Another Jew here, and I agree 100%.

1. They are concentration camps.
2. Concentration camps and death camps are/were different things.
3. Your father is a fucking war criminal.
4. Sit these fights out until you come to grips with that. https://t.co/coPxGL1HUb— (Muttley) Matt 🤖♿️ (@1CynicalCyborg) June 18, 2019
my grandparents survived concentration camps during the holocaust and this is the same damn thing. it’s not demeaning to call it what it is. i’m so over conservatives being fake offended to try to distract from the real issues https://t.co/WzFlGSaw8V

Your own father is a mass murderer, Liz. The caging of children by the GOP is not on par with the Holocaust, nor is the number of deaths of the unfortunate children at the Southern Border, but this is how atrocities begin and grow. Your family & the GOP are an American shame. https://t.co/P2GjsZy8Sq

You @Liz_Cheney and your GOP peers are such clowns. Is AOC wrong because not enough people are dying? Or do you think the label “concentration camp” can be applied only to Jews? https://t.co/ZzjuV0UiT9

As an actual grandchild of a Holocaust survivor who managed to escape the Warsaw ghetto, @AOC is spot on and we should call these camps exactly what they are. https://t.co/9A3vvTkdf9

Dear Liz Cheney,
Fuck off.
Sincerely,
A Jew https://t.co/ZyJghLP0o9— Lauren Kuhlik (@CrassHysteria) June 18, 2019
Please @Liz_Cheney do us all a favor & learn some actual history:
•Concentration camps began in 1933
•Extermination camps began in 1940-41https://t.co/OGYd8HvH2c
•Today, 45 is locking Latino Christians in the same Concentration Camps used on Japanese Americans. It must STOP. https://t.co/WWikTYaJJ9— Qasim Rashid, Esq. (@QasimRashid) June 18, 2019
Sorry, @Liz_Cheney — you need to learn the difference between concentration camps and extermination camps.
These are absolutely concentration camps, and you demean yourself with your lack of understanding of history. https://t.co/D8Di8FawZS
