The Internet Scorches Trump for Lighthearted Tweet About Boeing Plane Crashes: ‘A Whole Lot of People Died!’

President Donald Trump tweeted out a lighthearted suggestion for “rebranding” the Boeing 737 MAX following two fatal crashes, and other social media users were horrified.
The president spent much of the previous day tweeting about Tiger Woods winning the Masters golf tournament, and he started Monday with a self-deprecating suggestion for the troubled aircraft manufacturer.
What do I know about branding, maybe nothing (but I did become President!), but if I were Boeing, I would FIX the Boeing 737 MAX, add some additional great features, & REBRAND the plane with a new name.
No product has suffered like this one. But again, what the hell do I know?— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 15, 2019
The aircraft was grounded worldwide last month after a fatal crash on Ethiopian Airlines that killed all 157 aboard, five months after a crash on Lion Air that killed all 189 passengers and crew.
“No product has suffered like this one.” A whole lot of people died when these planes crashed, but sure let’s talk about how Boeing’s MAX has suffered.
Next time let’s elect a president with some shreds of empathy and humanity, shall we? https://t.co/673BEGkbpa

This is a perfectly natural thing for a US President to be furious about at 6:30 in the morning

I can’t believe Boeing never thought of fixing their crashing planes before https://t.co/PekOYmYVA9

Maybe Boeing should just turn its engines into a money laundering vehicle for corrupt Russians. I hear that’s a good fix. https://t.co/SRppE9NMSO

Note: Branding is not something that fixes mechanical problems.
