Attorney Michael Avenatti is being charged with attempted extortion, allegedly threatening Nike with reputational and market cap harm if they did not pay him $20 million.

Less than one hour later the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of New York (SDNY) posted this tweet announcing “charges against Michael Avenatti for attempting to extract more than $20M in payments from Nike”:
