Brad Parscale, the campaign manager for President Donald Trump‘s 2020 re-election bid, in a proof-less missive is warning freshman House Democrats to “turn on Speaker Pelosi” and vote for the President’s wall.
Despite poll after poll after poll showing the majority of Americans oppose the wall, Parscale claims “Data clearly shows” if they don’t vote for the wall they won’t be re-elected.
Parscale offers zero hard evidence, just an empty claim, which is par for the course with Trump and his team.
“The public is solidly against the expansion of the border walls and remains sympathetic toward immigrants in the country illegally,” Gallup reports in a new poll released Monday morning..
“Sixty percent of Americans oppose major new construction of walls along the U.S.-Mexico border — the goal behind President Donald Trump’s budget showdown with Democratic leaders that led to a record 35-day partial shutdown of the federal government,” Gallup notes. That number is up from 57% in June.
Gallup also finds that the “vast majority of Americans (81%) favor allowing immigrants living illegally in the U.S. ‘the chance to become U.S. citizens if they meet certain requirements over a period of time.'”
Parscale, meanwhile, also claims that CNN and MSNBC are “complicit” in “playing” the House Democrats. His statement is unclear. NCRM has reached out to Partscale but did not immediately receive a response.
UPDATE: 10:53 AM ET –
Parscale offers this poll from a Republican pollster who was the lead pollster for the failed 2012 Romney presidential campaign. Neil Newhouse infamously said in 2012, “We’re not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact-checkers.” The poll is of just “ten congressional districts which were won by the President in 2016 but are currently held by Democrats in Congress.”
