Transgender Woman Smacks Down All of the ‘I Vote Republican, but I’m Socially Liberal’ Bunk in Epic Tweetstorm

‘You Are Complicit’

Charlotte Clymer is an Army Veteran, a writer who works for the Human Rights Campaign, and she happens to also be a transgender woman. In an epic tweetstorm that’s going viral, Clymer details a conversation she says she had at a party, with a man who claims to be “socially liberal” yet votes for Republicans.

It’s pretty clear it did not go well for him.

Clymer says on Twitter, “If you support a party that is anti-LGBTQ and anti-woman and xenophobic and white supremacist because you think your taxes are too high, you are not ‘socially liberal.'”

That’s just one in a series of 16 tweets.

“You are complicit,” Clymer says in another tweet. “You are voting for my oppression.”

The best thing you can do is read them all, and share them.

They’re going viral, by the way. The first one has been retweeted nearly 6000 times, and liked over 18,000 times. Among those retweeting it are Sarah Silverman.

Take a look.
