Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez mocked Mike Huckabee and his daughter, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, after the former governor and former presidential candidate attacked her on Twitter.
Huckabee had tweeted out a Daily Mail article, and said, “Ocasio-Cortez compares her election to moon landing. Huh? Big difference. Moon landing was LUNAR, not LOONEY; Moon landing done by ppl who knew what they were doing…those who elected someone who thought there were 3 branches of Congress did NOT.”
Ocasio-Cortez hit back.
“Leave the false statements to Sarah Huckabee. She’s much better at it,” the soon-to-be sworn in lawmaker from Queens, New York, told Huckabee via Twitter.
“Also, you haven’t been a Governor of any state for 10+ years now,” she added, apparently in response to his Twitter handle in which he still uses his title from elected office, which he last held nearly 12 years ago.
And she defended her position, tweeting, “A Green New Deal will take a level of ambition + innovation on the scale of the moon landing. We’ve been done it before, and can do it again.”
She also amusingly noted her typo, quickly offering supporters a few options:
But Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t done yet. She doubled-down, expanding her remarks to include Fox News, several other Republicans, and the “YouTube universe.”
“I’m not even sworn in yet. Don’t y’all have jobs to do?” she asked, rhetorically.
