#QAnon Is a Deranged Far Right Wing Extremist Conspiracy Theory Cult

Vice President Mike Pence posted photos of himself posing with “courageous” Florida law enforcement officers Friday afternoon. One of the officers, from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, is proudly wearing a #QAnon patch on his uniform:

The offending photo was quickly deleted (above screenshot via Archive.org), but not before Right Wing Watch’s Jared Holt, the first to notice, posted this tweet:

The Miami New Times, which also reported on Pence’s #QAnon photo, calls the far right wing extremist #QAnon conspiracy theory “painfully stupid,” and “batshit-insane.”

They explain that #QAnon is a “4Chan-based conspiracy theory that claims Donald Trump is secretly fighting a war with Special Counsel Robert Mueller to capture a secret, elite pedophile ring that includes prominent celebrities and Democratic politicians, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. The theory seems to have come from a group of online con-artists, according to one NBC News investigation.”
