Trump Just Called the Media ‘The True Enemy of the People’ – Days After Bombs Sent to CNN

Amid questions from reporters if he thought his rhetoric had helped incite a terrorist who sent 14 bombs last week, President Donald Trump on Friday said he thought he’s been “toned down,” and warned he “could tone it up.”

He just did.

Monday morning, just days after two of the bombs were sent to CNN, and less than 48 hours after a madman marched into a synagogue and massacred 11 people, President Trump just called the media “the true enemy of the people.”

That man, the man who attempted to assassinate 12 people, including two former U.S. presidents, also called CNN the “enemy” of America.

Trump appears to be linking the anti-Semitic hate crime mass shooting, the deadliest attack on Jewish people in America’s history, and the 14 bombs, to the free press.

“There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly. That will do much to put out the flame,” Trump tweeted, “of Anger and Outrage and we will then be able to bring all sides together in Peace and Harmony. Fake News Must End!” he added.
