‘Proud Boys’ Founder’s Calls for Violence Collected in a Viral Video

Far-right extremist and founder of the “Proud Boys,” Gavin McInnes has seen his many calls for hate violence go viral by his opposition.

A video compilation of McInnes’ words created by Vic Berger IV has been viewed on Twitter more than 1.14 million times since it was posted. In it, McInnes discusses his creation of the “Proud Boys,” and his push for violence.

“I started this gang called the Proud Boys,” says McInnes in the video compilation of his words.

“We will kill you,” he continues. “That’s the Proud Boys in a nutshell.”

The “Proud Boys” recently took to the streets of New York after an event hosted by McInnis that included a reenactment of the 1960 murder of the leader of the Japanese Socialist Party. Thirty members of the group attacked bystanders two blocks away from the Metropolitan Republican Club, where McInnes had spoken.

“Fighting solves everything. We need more violence from the Trump people,” says McInnes in the clip, culled from a Gavin McInnes Show episode broadcast on CRTV.

Amongst his targets appear to be women and trans women.

“Trump supporters: Choke a motherfucker. Choke a bitch. Choke a tranny. Get your fingers around the windpipe,” McInnis is heard saying.

This is not the first time he has target transgender people: in 2014, after publishing an incendiary essay titled “Transphobia is Perfectly Natural,” McInnes was asked to take an indefinite leave of absence as Creative Officer of Rooster. McInnes claimed that the reaction to the piece was “fake hysteria.”

McInnis is the co-founder of VICE Media as well as a regular Fox News guest. He has a long history of provocative acts, but his push for violence and apparent racism, anti-Semitism, anti-Islam, and other views have out shadowed his past in comedy.
