Remember How Liberals Were Supposed to Understand Middle America’s Trump Love? New Poll Shows Little Love Left.
A just-released NBC News/Marist poll shows Middle America has lost its love of Donald Trump. President Donald Trump’s approval rating have declined dramatically in Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin – which boasts GOP Speaker of the House Paul Ryan as its hometown boy.
In Michigan, just 36 percent of registered voters approve of Trump. 54 percent disapprove.
In Minnesota, Trump fares slightly better: 38% approve, 51% disapprove.
And in Wisconsin, the ratio is 36% approve, 52% disapprove.
“Democrats enjoy a lead in congressional preference from 8 points to 12 points in these three states,” NBC News notes, adding that “majorities in all three states say their vote in November will be a message that more Democrats are needed in Congress to be a check and balance on the president.”
It actually gets worse for Trump.
In Michigan, less than three in ten registered voters (28%) want Trump to have a second term.
In Minnesota, the number sits at just 30%, with 62% saying Trump should be a one-term president.
And in Wisconsin, 31% would vote to re-elect, 63% would not.
