Watch: Theologian Rains Fire and Brimstone on ‘Jesus-Hating’ Christians Who Support Trump

Published

on

Appearing on MSNBC, theologian and former evangelist Franklin Schaeffer lambasted White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders and so-called Christian evangelicals who are looking the other way while President Donald Trump is allowing the children of immigrants to be torn from their families and placed in detention centers.

Speaking with AM Joy host Joy Reid, Schaeffer was unsparing inhis criticism of Trump-supporting Christians and Republicans, harshly calling them “Jesus-hating.”

“You know, what’s going on today is very clearly giving us a dividing line in our culture, and I would just put it this way,” Schaeffer began. “Christians who still support Trump who is separating mothers from babies are now condoning a form of child abuse.”

“As a Christian, I can just say I can’t think of anything that would be more Jesus-hating. this isn’t just Jesus-disobeying, this is Jesus-hating,” he continued.

“So, there are going to be repercussions for the Republican Party that has gone along, like pimps of evil, with this president,” he exclaimed. “They are now defending, as Sarah Huckabee does, the indefensible. Listen, these are not illegal immigrants. These are the children of people seeking asylum as Jews did in the 1930s from Nazi Germany.”

“Can you imagine if we would look back at that history, if Jewish children had been ripped from their parent’s arms arriving from this country seeking asylum and separated from their families?” he asked. “It would be right up there with the incarceration and imprisonment of Japanese people.”

“These are exclusively the children of asylum seekers,” he added. “This is the child of the person by the side of the road in the parable of the Good Samaritan. This is the person who is unwanted and unloved — but they are asylum seekers.”

Robert Mueller Will Testify Before Two House Committees

Published

on

The Democrats may be inching closer toward impeachment of Donald Trump if this latest move has anything to show for itself. Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller was subpoenaed to testify before two House committees – and has accepted.

Mueller had previously said he would not testify post-investigation findings because his 448-page written report “should speak for itself.” However, he’s since changed his tune.

“Americans have demanded to hear directly from the Special Counsel so they can understand what he and his team examined, uncovered, and determined about Russia’s attack on our democracy, the Trump campaign’s acceptance and use of that help, and President Trump and his associates’ obstruction of the investigation into that attack,” House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler and House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff said in a joint statement.

“He was and is deeply reluctant to come testify, but nonetheless he has agreed to respect the subpoena,” Schiff told CNN on Tuesday evening.

“This will be an opportunity to amplify the message of the report, and then, you know, we’ll let the chips fall where they may,” said Rep. Jamie Raskin, a Maryland Democrat on the Judiciary Committee who has pushed for opening an impeachment inquiry.

Mueller will appear to potentially discuss his investigation’s findings before Congress on July 17 in back-to-back hearings with the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees. Mueller is expected to provide additional knowledge about the Trump-Russia election interference and 10 counts of possible obstruction of justice by the sitting president of the United States.

Trump’s response? A tweet.

Liberals Are All in Defending New Congresswoman Who Declared Democrats Are ‘Going to Impeach the Motherf*cker’

Published

Newly-sworn-in U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) is one of the first two Muslim women Members of Congress. And after a day of celebrating, voting, and more celebrating, she told supporters Thursday night that House Democrats are going to impeach President Trump.

Except that’s not exactly what she said.

Congresswoman Tlaib at a MoveOn event shared a conversation she had with her son.

“And when your son looks at you and says, ‘Mama look, you won. Bullies don’t win,’ and I said, ‘Baby, they don’t,’ because we’re gonna go in there and we’re going to impeach the motherf****r.”

Here’s the video:

On the right, conservatives and Republicans are furious.

Here’s Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, aghast, expressing his faux outrage on Fox News:

On the left, liberals and Democrats on social media (not all, but mostly) are thrilled – and only too happy to push back against the right, reminding them of the record of the man in the White House and the reason they say they like him so much.

This tweet pretty much sums it all up:

Here are some on the left (presumably – we haven’t checked their political leanings) reminding America what’s really important:

Watch: Massive Protest Against Trump in Pittsburgh as Politicians Refuse to Be Seen With President

Published

‘President Trump You Are Not Welcome in Pittsburgh’

The mayor of Pittsburgh and others affected by Saturday’s massacre of 11 people observing the Sabbath in The Tree of Life synagogue asked President Donald Trump to not come visit them today, but the President refused to listen. And now he is paying the price.

No local, state, or national politicians greeted Air Force One Tuesday afternoon. No politicians will join the president as he makes his way into town to “pay his respects,” as the White House said.

Community leaders stressed that today they are holding funerals for the mass shooting victims, who were gunned down in an anti-Semitic hate crime terror attack. Law enforcement is stretched to the limit already. Having to protect the President on top of protecting funeral-goers and protestors would require too many police officers.

But the President wanted a photo op, one week before the midterms.

“Trump, accompanied by the First Lady and prominent Jewish members of his administration — including daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin — arrived in the stricken city just before 4 p.m. ET,” CNN reports. “He was expected to visit with wounded law enforcement officers and pay respects to the dead amid ongoing funeral observances for the mostly elderly victims. He was due back in Washington in a matter of hours.”

Saturday’s mass shooting, the deadliest attack on Jewish people in the history of the United States, was carried out by a man reportedly screaming “All Jews must die!”

Right now a very respectful and well-organized protest against President Trump is taking place, as CBS affiliate WRGB is showing live on Facebook.
