‘Good Thing Jared’s Working on Prison Reform’: Internet Scorches Trump for Comparing FBI to Nazi Stormtroopers
President Donald Trump spent the weekend away from the White House, the First Lady, and their son, fleeing to Camp David for a rare sojourn with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. But based on the volume of tweets from the ever-increasingly paranoid president this weekend it’s clear the federal mountain retreat in Maryland did not live up to its reputation of having a restorative effect.
Sunday afternoon President Trump posted an insane tweet comparing the FBI agents investigating him, members of his administration, transition team, and campaign, to Nazi Stormtroopers.
Mark Penn “Why are there people from the Clinton Foundation on the Mueller Staff? Why is there an Independent Counsel? To go after people and their families for unrelated offenses…Constitution was set up to prevent this…Stormtrooper tactics almost.” A disgrace!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 3, 2018
The president appeared to be referring to a Sunday morning interview with Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo and political strategist Mark Penn.
Many on social media were taken aback, saying even for this president the hyperbole was extreme and unacceptable. Others just rightly mocked Trump.
Good thing Jared is working on federal prison reform to make your stay more comfortable. Ahahahaha! https://t.co/Av59UMWWaV

He’s doing it yet again…assigning to others characteristics that best define him…No bigger “stormtrooper” than Trump…and his Nazi-like behaviors are apparent to all (well maybe not that part of his base whose heads are in the sand). https://t.co/buRnEtTun5

Totally innocent person tweeting totally innocent things. https://t.co/neRnBWqWCU

“I hate stormtrooper tactics,” said Trump, the guy who praised Neo-Nazis as “very fine people.”

Stormtrooper tactics? Singling out a group for everyone else to hate? Screaming “blood & soil”? These are Trump tactics! Spread that hate, Trump! Spread that fear! You’re trying to destroy our democracy so you can be a “Putin” in America. That’s pretty scummy of you!

This tweet is a cornucopia of lies, missinformation, and garbage:
– Rosenstein (R), Mueller (R), Comey (R)
– There is no “independent counsel” there is a Special Counsel
– Anyone who breaks the law should be prosecuted
– DOJ are not Nazis https://t.co/WTm1SYgaMw— Greg Sarafan 🌐⚖🗽Esq. (@GSarafan) June 3, 2018
Reminder: Only one person at Mueller’s team, while at WilmerHale, was a partner on the defense team representing the Clinton Foundation in a lawsuit. WilmerHale has also represented Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort, son-in-law Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka Trump. https://t.co/RRuFoIBbWQ

“Why are there people from the Clinton Foundation on the Mueller Staff?”
There aren’t.
There might be people on Mueller’s staff who donated to the Clinton Foundation, but then again, DONALD TRUMP HIMSELF DONATED $100,000 TO THE CLINTON FOUNDATION.

65M+ US voters: “Why is there a bankrupt, illiterate, hate-mongering, racist criminal in the White House? Because he conspired with Russia to steal the election. A disgrace!” https://t.co/QMjLcpNiaX

Trump’s supporters are completely fine with the First Family committing crimes without consequences. https://t.co/RM86wKsfKt
