WATCH: Powerful Conservative Defends ‘Victim’ Kelly Sadler
Matt Schlapp is a longtime conservative operative who heads the far right wing group that organizes and hosts the annual CPAC conference. Schlapp, a lobbyist, is a regular guest on the cable news networks, even MSNBC, despite his extreme views.
Schlapp is also married to White House Director of Strategic Communications Mercedes Schlapp.
And in a stunning move Monday morning, Schlapp defended White House staffer Kelly Sadler for her explosive and inhuman remark last week, that Senator John McCain is “dying anyway,” so his vote no longer matters.
“Kelly Sadler is a little bit of a victim here,” Schlapp said on CNN, calling the leak of her remarks the “problem,” rather than her remarks themselves.
Bill Kristol, a conservative commentator, snapped back, “I’m glad they’re leaking. We get a little window into the kinds of people in that White House.”
