US Congressman Likens NFL Players Protesting Police Violence Against Blacks to ‘Giving Nazi Salutes’

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) had a Twitter freakout on Saturday morning, complaining about news that New York Jets acting owner Christopher Johnson would pay the fines for any of his players who continued to kneel during the national anthem despite a new National Football League ban.

Writing on Twitter, the blustery congressman called the move “disgraceful,” and compared the protest to a Nazi salute.

“Disgraceful that @nyjets owner will pay fines for players who kneel for National Anthem. Encouraging a movement premised on lies vs. police. Would he support all player protests? Would he pay fines of players giving Nazi salutes or spew racism? It’s time to say goodbye to Jets!” King tweeted.
