Huckabee Sanders Confronted by Young Reporter Asking What Trump Has Done About School Shootings (Answer: Nothing)

Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked by a young reporter what the president and his administration have done to prevent school shootings. The reporter, who delivered his question like a pro Wednesday afternoon, appeared to be about 10 years old.

The child told the press secretary that at his school they “recently had a lock-down drill,” and one of the things that affect his and his classmates’ mental health “is to worry about the fact that we or our friends could get shot at school.”

“Specifically, could you tell me what the administration has done and will do to prevent these senseless tragedies?” he asked.

“There is nothing to be more terrifying for a kid to go to school and not feel safe,” Huckabee Sanders told the young reporter. She was clearly emotional and appeared near-tears after his question.

She went on to say that Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’s school safety commission was hard at work, but could not offer any specifics.

It’s unclear at the moment who the child was or how he got into the White House Press Briefing Room, unless it was pre-arranged.

Assuming it was, it’s odd the press secretary did not have an answer to the very important and possibly pre-arranged question.
