Police: Suspects in Anti-Gay Attack Surrender

Four men caught on camera allegedly beating a same-sex couple holding hands during Miami gay pride have surrendered to police after surveillance footage clearly showed their faces.

“The 4 subjects have just surrendered @ MBPD through an attorney,” the Miami Beach Police said via Twitter. “We anticipate felony charges for each of them,” MBP added.

“The police report says the group had been walking along Ocean Drive, a busy tourist area, Sunday evening when they ran into two men holding hands in a park,” The Associated Press reports. “One of the victims told police a man from the group called them an anti-gay slur in Spanish and then three of the four men attacked. Police say a good Samaritan tried to intervene and was also attacked.”

One of the victims told NBC 6, “We probably provoked them because we were walking together, holding hands.”

Miami Beach Police released this video Tuesday morning. Less than eight hours later the suspects surrendered.
