NYC Fire Dept Is Handing Out Safety Information at Trump Tower
The New York City Fire Dept. Monday afternoon was in Trump Tower handing out safety information after Saturday’s fire that left one man dead and six firefighters injured. It was the second fire at Trump’s Manhattan Fifth Avenue skyscraper this year.
President Trump on Saturday posted a tweet at 6:42 PM complimenting Trump Tower as “well-built” and praising the “Firemen (and women)” for doing a great job. He wrongly claimed at that time the fire was out.
Fire at Trump Tower is out. Very confined (well built building). Firemen (and women) did a great job. THANK YOU!

The FDNY was forced to post a tweet more than an hour later saying the fire was not out yet.
Trump has never acknowledged the death in Saturday’s fire of the Trump Tower resident the President allegedly had referred to as a “crazy Jew,” or the six injured firefighters.
Friday, the FDNY posted this tweet, specifying they were at Trump Tower “In response to Saturday’s fatal 4-alarm fire.”

Trump actively and successfully lobbied to not have to put sprinklers in the upper floors of Trump Tower. Reports say there was no working smoke alarm found.
