Donald Trump praised his legal team early Sunday following the departure of his top lawyer and more rumored changes to the president’s legal team.
“Many lawyers and top law firms want to represent me in the Russia case…don’t believe the Fake News narrative that it is hard to find a lawyer who wants to take this on,” Trump lied. “Fame & fortune will NEVER be turned down by a lawyer, though some are conflicted. Problem is that a new……”
“….lawyer or law firm will take months to get up to speed (if for no other reason than they can bill more), which is unfair to our great country – and I am very happy with my existing team,” the president finally continued nine minutes later. “Besides, there was NO COLLUSION with Russia, except by Crooked Hillary and the Dems!”
This week, Trump’s personal attorney leading the defense in the Russia probe John Dowd quit. Back in December, he reportedly claimed “the president cannot obstruct justice.”
Ahead of his departure, he confirmed that he was speaking on behalf of Trump (though he later walked the claim back) when he noted that he “[prays] that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring an end to alleged Russia Collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe’s boss James Comey based upon a fraudulent and corrupt Dossier.”
That’s to say nothing about the latest reports about the status of Trump’s legal team.
