NRA Board Member Ted Nugent Says ‘Evidence Is Irrefutable’ That Parkland Student Survivors ‘Have No Soul’

NRA Board of Directors member Ted Nugent is the latest pro-gun advocate to attack victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas mass shooting that left 17 people dead. On Good Friday the rock star declared the teenaged Parkland student survivors who are advocating for gun control so no other children have to die in a school massacre, “have no soul.”

“To attack the good law-abiding families of America when well known predictable murderers commit these horrors is deep in the category of soulless,” Nugent said of the Parkland students who have outwitted and overpowered the NRA. “These poor children, I’m afraid to say this and it hurts me to say this, but the evidence is irrefutable, they have no soul,” Nugent said on the March 30 edition Newsmax’s The Joe Pags Show, as Media Matters reported.

Nugent, an ardent supporter of President Donald Trump and to the consternation of many was invited into the Oval Office, attempted to defend NRA rank and file members.

“The level of ignorance goes beyond stupidity,” he said, attacking the students, who said the NRA has blood on its hands. “Again, the National Rifle Association are a bunch of American families who have a voice to stand up for our God-given Constitutionally-guaranteed right to keep and bear arms,” he claimed. Nugent did not note that the NRA is actually a lobbying group for the gun manufacturing industry that frequently disregards the majority opinions of average citizens who pay membership dues.

“We have no blood on our hands. No NRA member have ever been involved in any mass shootings at all, in fact the National Rifle Association is the lone organization that has taught firearm safety in schools, and for law enforcement, and for military, and for childrens organizations and family organizations around the country for 100 years. So once again, this poor pathetic individual is a liar,” he said, apparently referring to Parkland student Emma González.

“The dumbing down of America is manifested in the culture deprivation of our academia that have taught these kids the lies, media that have prodded and encouraged and provided these kids lies,” Nugent continued. “I really feel sorry for them because it’s not only ignorant and dangerously stupid, but it’s soulless. To attack the good law-abiding families of America when well known predictable murderers commit these horrors is deep in the category of soulless. These poor children, I’m afraid to say this and it hurts me to say this, but the evidence is irrefutable, they have no soul.”
