“The NRA Is Not OK!”
One month to the day of the horrific massacre at Parkland, Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school, students are holding 17 minute walkouts and much longer protests across the country. Joining them are friends and family, school officials, and Democratic lawmakers. The goal: convince lawmakers to pass stronger gun laws.
In front of the president’s Trump International Hotel in Manhattan, these students are chanting, “Hey hey, NRA, how many kids did you kill today?”
One holds a hand-made sign that reads: “We need effective gun control laws.”
In Philadelphia, students chant, “The NRA is not OK!”
Outside of Congress in Washington, D.C. students are chanting, “What do we want? Gun Control. When do we want it? Now!”
And outside the White House, what looks to be thousands are protesting silently. One student holds a sign that says, “Protect kids not guns.”
