Trump Says Top Democrat on House Intelligence Committee ‘Must Be Stopped!’ After Nunes Memo Fizzles
‘Little Adam Schiff’
President Donald Trump took aim at the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee after the supposed bombshell Nunes memo fizzled out. The president called the Ranking Member Monday morning “Little Adam Schiff,” and tweeted that he “Must be stopped!”
It is a stunning threat, made worse by Trump calling Schiff “one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington,” and comparing him to others who were also instrumental in debunking or defusing the Nunes memo: James Comey, Sen. Mark Warner, former CIA Director John Brennan, and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper! Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 5, 2018
Trump’s claim Rep. Schiff “leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information” echoes a claim Donald Trump Jr. made talking to Fox News on Saturday, although the eldest Trump son did not accuse Schiff but staffers of going on bathroom breaks and talking to reporters once out of the hearing room.
