Trump Blames Democrats for Decision not to Release ‘Very Political and Long Response Memo’
“Told Them to Re-Do and Send Back in Proper Form!â€
Donald Trump is blaming Democrats for his decision not to release the Democratic response memo, citing the fact that it was “very political and long.â€
“The Democrats sent a very political and long response memo which they knew, because of sources and methods (and more), would have to be heavily redacted, whereupon they would blame the White House for lack of transparency,†the president wrote Saturday morning. “Told them to re-do and send back in proper form!â€

The Democratic memo was drafted to refute the Intelligence Committee chair’s attempts to delegitimize the Russia investigation. White House Counsel Don McGahn advised Nunes that the “Executive Branch stands ready to review any subsequent draft of the February 5th Memorandum for declassification at the earliest opportunity.â€

As NCRM has reported, Trump was caught on hot mic following the State of the Union address advising a GOP lawmaker that he would release the original Devin Nunes memo, “100%,†having not even read it. Of note:
Trump allowed release of the Nunes memo over strenuous FBI and DOJ objections. Now, he won’t allow release of Schiff memo, citing DOJ objections. https://t.co/BLrQnXFC06
