A Federal Judge Just Unsealed a Mueller Indictment Against Paul Manafort and It’s a Doozie
Allegedly Paid Millions to Politicians to Secretly LobbyÂ
Paul Manfort is in even bigger trouble today than he was yesterday.Â
On Thursday a federal grand jury operating under Special Counsel Robert Mueller delivered a 32-count indictment against Manafort and his former Trump campaign and private business deputy Rick Gates.Â
On Friday Gates pleaded guilty not to 32 counts, not to 16 counts, but to two smaller charges.
And clearly he’s now working as a cooperating witness for the prosecution.
In case there were any questions, a federal judge responding to a Mueller request just unsealed a superseding indictment against Mananfort, and it’s a doozie.
Mueller’s indictment “accuses Paul Manafort of secretly paying former European politicians to lobby on behalf of Ukraine,” the Associated Press just reported.
Manafort is now accused of paying millions of dollars to these politicians, which MSNBC pondered might be bribery, but as Buzzfeed’s Chris Geidner points out, it looks like Mueller is accusing Manafort of paying politicians to secretly lobby:

This is clearly information given to Mueller by Gates.
