Trump Booed by Georgia-Alabama Fans at College Football Championship Game
President Trump Doesn’t Know Words to The National Anthem
President Donald Trump attended the Georgia-Alabama college football national championship game at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta Monday night, and was booed. Twice. Also embarrassing, President Trump apparently does not know the words to the National Anthem. He was caught on camera mouthing some but not all of the words to “The Star-Spangled Banner,” despite having fought so hard to have pro-football players show what he sees as “respect” by standing instead of taking a knee.Â
“President Donald Trump arrived at the national championship game as expected Monday night, walking on the field to a mix of cheers and boos about seven minutes before kickoff, and standing with military members for the national anthem,” USA Today reports. “Trump was mostly cheered when he walked out of the tunnel but at the conclusion of the anthem was loudly booed.”
The president was also loudly booed as his motorcade arrived at the stadium, as CNN’s Andy Scholes reported:
They locked down @MBStadium for @realDonaldTrump an hour ago and myself and a thousand fans have been waiting in the rain to get in. Let’s just say there were plenty of boos when Trump arrived pic.twitter.com/6XIr8YO5gO

“Officials shut down Mercedes-Benz Stadium about 5:45 p.m. ET when Trump was on his way, leaving thousands of fans (and some media members) stranded in the rain until the president was inside the stadium,” USA Today adds. “When he arrived almost an hour later — presumably passing a small group of protesters outside CNN headquarters — there were resounding boos. The Metro Atlanta chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America projected ‘F*** Trump’ on the outside of the stadium, tweeting ‘Welcome to Atlanta where the players play and where the Democratic Socialists have an awesome projector like every day. (You’re not welcome in District 5 or anywhere else in ATL you orange fascist.’)”
NBC News video also recorded President Trump clearly unable to sing the National Anthem, mouthing a few words.

Trump did not stay for the whole game, he left before the start of the second half.
