Senate Republicans Make First Criminal Recommendation in Russia Probe: Author of Trump-Russia Dossier
Who Do They Work For?
Christopher Steele, the former British MI6 spy who authored much of the Fusion GPS Trump-Russia dossier is the target of Senate Republicans who have named him as their first criminal referral.
Rather than referring anyone in the Trump administration, anyone who worked on the Trump campaign or anyone who worked on the Trump transition team, Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) have referred Steele to the DOJ for criminal prosecution, The New York Times has just reported.
The two Senators who both serve on the Judiciary Committee where Grassley is the chairman told the Justice Department Steele “lied to federal authorities about his contacts with reporters regarding information in the dossier, and they urged the department to investigate,” the Times explains.
Republicans have railed against the dossier, even though not a single portion of it has ever been disproven, and several portions have been substantiated.
Senator Grassley has bent over backwards to protect President Trump.
