North Korea Calls Trump Bragging About the Size of His Nuclear Button the ‘Spasm of a Lunatic’

'He Is Making Bluff Only to Be Diagnosed as a Psychopath' North Korea Says

North Korea is finally responding to President Donald Trump's remarks earlier this month during which he tweeted his nuclear launch button was larger than Kim Jong-un's.

"I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!" Trump tweeted January 2.

North Korea's official state-run media called Trump's nuclear button tweet the "spasm of a lunatic," The Associated Press reports.

"The spasm of Trump in the new year reflects the desperate mental state of a loser who failed to check the vigorous advance of the army and people of the DPRK," a North Korean newspaper commentary said. DPRK is the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, North Korea's official name.

"He is making [a] bluff only to be diagnosed as a psychopath," the post in the Rodong Sinmun added.

The Wall Street Journal's Seoul Bureau Chief Jonathan Cheng posted these tweets quoting the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the state news agency of North Korea:

Trump had kicked off the new year with several disturbing tweets that put many on edge. Minutes later he tweeted he would "be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR."
