Bannon Out From Breitbart
Bannon’s Comments About Trumps Too Much
Steve Bannon is “stepping down” from his position as executive chairman of Breitbart, the far right wing website he ran before and after working for Donald Trump. The New York Times was first to report the news. In a five month period Bannon has lost his jobs in the White House and at the website he once described as the “platform for the alt-right.”
Bannon’s incendiary remarks to Michael Wolff, author of “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” were too much for President Donald Trump. Trump reportedly has been calling conservatives and demanding they choose between him and Bannon.
UPDATE:
Axios’ Jonathan Swan encapsulates it perfectly:
Bannon still thinks of himself as a revolutionary. That self-perception won’t change. It’s just that now he has no vehicle, no staff, no platform, and no major donors funding his ambitions.
