CNN: Trump, Told Flynn Will Plead Guilty to Lying to FBI, Is Told by Aide Everyone in Washington Lies
White House Says It Will Not Respond to Flynn News
President Donald Trump was notified by a White House aide Friday morning that his former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn would be pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about his dealings with the Russians.Â
CNN reports that an aide, in an attempt to diminish the severity of the situation, told the President that everybody lies in Washington.
New: Source close to the president attempted to mitigate the severity of the charge against Flynn by pointing out that everyone lies in Washington, per reporting by @GloriaBorger.

Clearly, the advice the president is being given is truly terrible.
Good Lord. Trumpers roll out what I guess you’d call the I.F. Stone defense abt Flynn. “Everyone lies!” https://t.co/ksLozUPzIl pic.twitter.com/ysfCKcVJQM

The White House has told reporters it will not be commenting on the Flynn news, but Ty Cobb, the White House attorney in charge of dealing with the Russia investigation, would make a statement later.
