Bombshell: Donald Trump Jr Was in Direct Contact With Wikileaks Throughout Campaign
Wikileaks Is Widely Believed to Be Tied to the Russia Government
The Atlantic is out with a bombshell report:Â Donald Trump Jr. was in direct contact with Wikileaks throughout the campaign. And by direct, they mean direct: private direct messages on Twitter.
Mike Pompeo called Wikileaks a hostile intelligence service. What does it mean that Don Jr. was talking to them? https://t.co/pD1ahvtgIo

It appears, according to The Atlantic’s Julia Ioffe, that the oldest son of then-candidate Donald Trump received many “DM’s” from Wikileaks, and responded occasionally. But he also appears to have used the information provided, even funneling it to his father.
For example:
“Strongly suggest your dad tweets this link if he mentions us,†WikiLeaks went on, pointing Trump Jr. to the link wlsearch.tk, which it said would help Trump’s followers dig through the trove of stolen documents and find stories. “There’s many great stories the press are missing and we’re sure some of your follows [sic] will find it,†WikiLeaks went on. “Btw we just released Podesta Emails Part 4.â€
Trump Jr. did not respond to this message. But just 15 minutes after it was sent, as The Wall Street Journal’s Byron Tau pointed out, Donald Trump himself tweeted, “Very little pick-up by the dishonest media of incredible information provided by WikiLeaks. So dishonest! Rigged system!â€
Two days later, on October 14, 2016, Trump Jr. tweeted out the link WikiLeaks had provided him. “For those who have the time to read about all the corruption and hypocrisy all the @wikileaks emails are right here: http://wlsearch.tk/,†he wrote.
And then there’s this incriminating revelation. Ioffe writes that “on the same day that Trump Jr. received the first message from WikiLeaks, he emailed other senior officials with the Trump campaign, including Steve Bannon, Kellyanne Conway, Brad Parscale, and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, telling them WikiLeaks had made contact. Kushner then forwarded the email to campaign communications staffer Hope Hicks. At no point during the 10-month correspondence does Trump Jr. rebuff WikiLeaks, which had published stolen documents and was already observed to be releasing information that benefited Russian interests.
Also at no time did Trump Jr. or any of the above named Trump campaign officials contact the FBI, as they should have done.
It is widely believed that Wikileaks operates as an arm of the Russia government.
Some reactions via Twitter:
Oct 14 — Pence vehemently denies that the Trump campaign was in contact with Wikileakshttps://t.co/xIdA0y6A4l https://t.co/P7nDtbD85l

This blows the lid off everything. Donald Trump, Jr. was in touch with Wikileaks, who trafficked the DNC emails stolen by Russia. https://t.co/tKFXsVhYqp

So Donald Trump Jr responded “I love it†when offered “high-level†info from the Russian government—and secretly collaborated with Wikileaks.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t there a decent amount of evidence/belief that Assange personally (and probably solely) controls the Wikileaks Twitter?

This is really interesting. The legal question is whether someone in the Trump camp knew about the hacking and aided the scheme in some way, or knowingly received stolen material. https://t.co/ypXQkYUw9B

The very same morning Pence said the Trump campaign wasn’t “in cahoots” with WikiLeaks, Don Jr. tweeted out a link provided to him by … WikiLeaks. pic.twitter.com/shMIH9puTk

Everyone reading the story on Don Trump Jr’s emails with Wikileaks, should read former White House Counsel Bob Bauer on when coordination of campaign activities with a foriegn national (think: Wikileaks) is a federal crime:https://t.co/DeDlzTelVM pic.twitter.com/yZ4Dw4R0kP
