New York Times Reporter Posts Tweet Proving Trump Just Lied
New York Times Reporter Proves Trump Just Mud-Slinging
New York Times political reporter Jonathan Martin responded to President Trump’s tweet Tuesday morning that attacked again GOP Senator Bob Corker and the Times. After Trump went after the Senator from Tennessee over his criticisms of the president, Corker gave an exclusive interview to the Times.
In that interview Corker warned that Trump’s recklessness could lead America into World War III, presumably with North Korea.
Trump Tuesday morning posted this totally false tweet:
The Failing @nytimes set Liddle’ Bob Corker up by recording his conversation. Was made to sound a fool, and that’s what I am dealing with!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 10, 2017
Trump apparently was mocking Corker’s height, while accusing the Times of possibly secretly recording the interview.
Corker had shared many of his thoughts, which the Times published and later, the Times published excerpts and portions of the recorded audio (above).
But just eight minutes after Trump’s Tuesday morning tweet, Jonathan Martin pushed back, essentially calling Trump out on his lie. He noted that in addition to Corker on the phone, the Senator also had two aides, and they also recorded the call to ensure he was not misquoted. And, he notes, totally proving Trump was lying about Corker being “set up,” Martin says Corker’s team ensured the Times also had recorded the conversation.
Corker had 2 aides on line, also recording, and they made sure after it ended that I was taping, too.

Trump has been on a tear Tuesday morning, calling for changes to tax laws that allow non-profits, specifically the NFL, to lose their tax-exempt status if the government does not like their politics. The NFL gave up its tax-exempt status in 2015.
He also endorsed a book by the editor-in-chief of the far right wing website The Daily Caller, blamed Jemele Hill for ESPN’s ratings, warned he is going to undermine ObamaCare even more by allowing insurance companies to create cheap insurance policies that are effectively useless – something ObamaCare banned. And he accused Democrats of not wanting “safety for the U.S.A.”
