Tweet of the Day: Annise Parker on Rush Limbaugh
‘Lesbian Mayor’ Mocks Right Wing Radio Host
Annise Parker has been enjoying her recent time in the spotlight. It all started when the former Houston mayor became the target of an idiotic attack by none other than Ann Coulter, who – in her own unique way – blamed the “lesbian mayor” for Hurricane Harvey.
I don’t believe Hurricane Harvey is God’s punishment for Houston electing a lesbian mayor. But that is more credible than “climate change.” https://t.co/K7d7mopY5Q

Parker, who has always been one to rise up, rather than wrestle in the mud, waited a few days, but responded.Â
Brilliantly.
Darn it, I thought no one knew I had a super power over weather. https://t.co/DTTfpiiTE5

Note that Parker’s tweet was a lot more popular than Coulter’s.
Over the next few days Parker won many friends, and had some fun with her newly found “super power.”
Â
And then, today.
The Washington Post’s Dana Millbank mocked the religious right in an opinion piece Friday afternoon: “Did lesbians cause Hurricanes Irma and Harvey? God knows.”
Parker, clearly having a great time and ready to hit back at the far right who have gone way too far, took a shot at Rush Limbaugh for his dangerous lie. Here’s how Millbank described Limbaugh’s unforgivable remarks:
Where there is mischief, there is Rush Limbaugh, declaring that Irma is not an act of God but a case of liberal media hype to make people believe that climate change is real. “There is a desire to advance this climate change agenda, and hurricanes are one of the fastest and best ways to do it,†he argued, claiming that “hurricanes are always forecast to hit major population centers.†(That puts Limbaugh in company with Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist popular with President Trump, who wanted to know why the government didn’t use “technologies†to kill the storm before it made landfall.)
And here is the brilliant Annise Parker:
Rush still has a show? I didn’t even know he’d gotten out of drug rehab. https://t.co/D3zurduXLa

Well-played, Mayor Parker, well-played.
