Scotland Yard Is Angry and Sees Trump’s Terror Tweet as an Attack on London Police
UK Officials Once Again Angered by US President
President Donald Trump has caused yet another international incident via Twitter. The U.S. president was quick to call Friday morning’s attack in the London tube terrorism, and immediately claimed the suspect was known to Scotland Yard.
Another attack in London by a loser terrorist. These are sick and demented people who were in the sights of Scotland Yard. Must be proactive!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 15, 2017
Some wondered how Trump “knew” the suspect was known to Scotland Yard, and if he once again was revealing classified information from America’s closest ally.
Some news being broken by the president in this tweet? > https://t.co/izIFCD0DGM

Did we know the perpetrator(s) were known to Scotland Yard? Or has Trump just revealed classified intel again https://t.co/2icuyM6Pzy

Journalist Yashar Ali deduced what should have been obvious to all: Trump did not get the “intel” from U.S. or UK sources, but from Fox News:
Trump tweeted about Scotland Yard at 642 am. At 619 am on Fox/Friends @kilmeade talked about Scotland Yard having terrorists on their radar. pic.twitter.com/FCert2LpyW

Did Fox News make it up?
London-based The Independent reports “Security sources tell The Independent ‘we don’t even know who the suspects are.'”Â
And Keir Simmons, an English journalist who is a correspondent for NBC News and has covered major European terror attacks, took to Twitter Friday morning to say Scotland Yard is not pleased with Trump’s tweet:
People at Scotland Yard tell me they interpret this as an attack on London’s police men and women by the President of the United States. https://t.co/YxiEFzzlBN

British Prime Minister Theresa May blasted Trump’s tweet when asked specifically about it. “I never think it’s helpful for anybody to speculate on what is an ongoing investigation,” she told a reporter.
And Theresa May’s former chief of staff took to Twitter to also blast Trump, linking to the president’s offensive tweet:
True or not – and I’m sure he doesn’t know – this is so unhelpful from leader of our ally and intelligence partner. https://t.co/ZndrTXFrAX
