Eric Bolling on 19 Year Old Son’s Tragic Death: ‘No Sign of Self Harm at This Point’
Former Fox News Host Loses Son Same Day He and Network Part Ways
Eric Bolling’s 19-year old son died Friday night, hours after Fox News announced they were parting ways with the suspended host.
TMZ, as many websites noted, on Saturday afternoon initially stated that Eric Bolling’s son “committed suicide, TMZ has learned, hours after his father was forced out of the network. Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ 19-year-old Eric Chase Bolling, Jr. took his life Friday night.”
But Bolling took to Twitter and pushed back on multiple reports that his son succumbed to suicide.
“Authorities have informed us there is no sign of self harm at this point,” Bolling tweeted. “Autopsy will be next week. Please respect our grieving period.”
Eric Chase Bolling was the only son of Eric and Adrienne Bolling.
Less than one hour earlier, Bolling posted this tweet:
Adrienne and I are devastated by the loss of our beloved son Eric Chase last night. Details still unclear. Thoughts, prayers appreciated.

The Washington Post now reports “Boulder Police Sgt. Nick Smetzer said police found the 19-year-old in Boulder Friday evening after officers responded to a call about an ‘unintended death.’ Smetzer declined to provide more details but said the case remains under investigation.”
TMZ has updated its story and removed the references to suicide.
Now, TMZ’s story reads: “Well placed FNC sources tell TMZ … Eric Chase died from a drug overdose. We’re told he was having a hard time dealing with the trouble his dad was having at the network. Our sources say he was extremely embarrassed by the stories and was ’emotionally upset.'”
On social media, many have expressed support to the Bolling family:
Deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers from all the Tappers, Eric.
I am so, so sorry.

Very sad news, Eric Bolling’s son, who was only 19, died last night. By all accounts, Eric was incredibly devoted to his son. Heartbreaking.

We should be able to separate Eric Bolling’s actions from the reported death of his only son. That’s a tragedy. We can’t lose our humanity.
