WATCH: Hundreds of Torch-Bearing White Supremacists Chanting Nazi Slogans March on UVA
‘What I Just Witnessed Was the End of America’
Chanting “White Lives Matter,†“You will not replace us!†“Jew will not replace us,â€Â and the Nazi slogan “blood and soil,â€Â hundreds of white supremacists wielding tiki torches marched on the University of Virginia Grounds late Friday night. The group of mostly men in their 20’s and 30’s, at times making the Nazi salute, also included “some who looked to be in their mid-teens,” The Washington Post reports.
The white supremacists were met by counter-protestors who had been organizing in a church, and by the end violence broke out, with the white supremacists fleeing after reportedly being sprayed with mace or pepper spray.

The KKK-like demonstration was a precursor to thousands of so-called “alt-right,” Neo-Nazi, white nationalists, and white supremacists who will gather in Charlottesville on Saturday for a “Unite The Right†rally in Emancipation Park to protest the removal of a Confederate statue of Robert E. Lee.

These are the faces of white supremacy, and they should be shared. It’s a public protest. If they wanted privacy should’ve worn their hoods. pic.twitter.com/bDBu362Qun

The LA Times reports “one of the counter-protesters, Emily Gorcenski, tweeted:: “I am safe. I am not fine,†and “What I just witnessed was the end of America.â€Â
