Kellyanne Conway Says Trump Ran and Won on Building the Wall, Demands Congress (Not Mexico) Pay for It
‘He’s Building the Wall, He Expects the Funding’
Kellyanne Conway says President Donald Trump is expecting Congress to pay for the wall that was the core tenet of his presidential campaign, but she neglected to say that Trump promised that Mexico – not the American taxpayer – would foot the bill in full.

“He’s going to stick to building that border wall,” Conway told “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning, “and he wants that money to pay for it,” she demanded, wholly ignoring the chants Trump started at every single rally that ended with Mexico paying for the wall, “100%,” like this one:

“The president ran on building the wall, won on building the wall, and has remained steadfastly committed to doing it. Anybody that’s surprised by that has not been paying attention for over two years,” Conway snipped.Â
She then wrongly claimed that the very “prospect” of the wall being built has resulted in fewer illegal border crossings.
Conway then went even further: “He’s telling Congress he’s building the wall, he expects the funding, and it’s up to them.”
In a totally unhinged speech Tuesday, Trump told supporters in Phoenix he threatened to shut down the government if Congress – in other words, the U.S. taxpayer – does not pay to build the wall. Â
