UPDATED: Anonymous Says Hack of Top White Supremacist Website ‘False Flag Op by Owner’

And Domain Provider Boots The Daily Stormer

Editor’s note: 10:09 AM –
After reporting they had hacked The Daily Stormer an Anonymous news source now says Anonymous did not hack the site and The Daily Stormer is responsible for the claim Anonymous hacked their site:

Story as originally published continues below:

The hacktivist collective known as Anonymous has hacked the nation’s top neo-Nazi and white supremacist website, and is threatening to shut it down.

The Daily Stormer on Sunday had published a vile post attacking Heather Heyer, the 32-year old woman murdered after Saturday’s white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, allegedly by a neo-Nazi who has since been charged with the crime.

Anonymous, in response, posted a message on The Daily Stormer: “WE HAVE TAKEN THIS SITE IN THE NAME OF HEATHER HEYER A VICTIM OF WHITE SUPREMACIST TERRORISM,” according to Variety.

Hours earlier, GoDaddy say it has told The Daily Stormer it must find another domain service provider within 24 hours.

Many on Twitter, like Russia and totalitarian expert Amy Siskind, called GoDaddy out for allowing The Daily Stormer to violate the international domain and web hosting provider’s terms of service:

GoDaddy responded to her and several others, saying The Daily Stormer has 24 hours to move their domain.

On Saturday, The Daily Stormer publicly applauded President Donald Trump for his implicit support of white supremacism after he was asked to denounce it and refused to do so:

Heyer was protesting the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday when a 20-year old Neo-Nazi drove his car into the crowd in an act of domestic terrorism. Heyer lost her life, and 19 others were injured, some critically.

Since Saturday’s violent rally, which followed hundreds of torch-bearing neo-Nazis marching on a University of Virginia park Friday night, thousands across the country, from D.C. to Seattle, have protested white supremacism. More protests are expected.
